Holiday French Toast

Ingredients:

1C brown sugar
1/2 C butter melted
3t Cinnamon
3 apples, pealed cored & chopped
1/2 C raisins or cranberries
1 loaf bread (i used Texas toast)
6 eggs
1 1/2 C milk
1T vanilla

Combine brown sugar, butter and 1t cinnamon in 9×13 pan. Add apples & raisins or cranberries. Toss to coat well. Spread apple mix evenly over the bottom of the pan. Arrange slices of bread on top. I cut them in quarters and overlapped the slices with points up. Mix eggs. milk, vanilla and remaining cinnamon until well blended. Cover and refrigerate 4-24 hours. Bake covered with foil at 375 for 50 minutes. Remove from oven. Uncover and bake for another 10 minutes. Remove from oven again, let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Serve warm.

I hope this is how a recipe is supposed to be posted?!

Becky, you are a contributor to this blog now which means you are in control of this blog as I am. This means you can write your own posts instead of just commenting. So I will help you in learning how to write a post.

Becky, I’m going to let you write your post for this recipe so that it falls under your name and you get the credit for writing it. Just let me know if those instructions are clear or not.

Hi Sarah,

I made it here! I look forward to checking out the recipes and adding to them. It may be awhile because I am working on a Family Cookbook for my children for Christmas. Money is kind of tight this year so I have been trying to think of some non-expensive gifts. I am looking forward to working on this. I am going to have pictures of the kids and our family throughout the book, some with funny captions etc..I look forward to see ths blog grow. It will be fun

Love Cristina

Hi, Cristina!
I’m so glad you’ve decided to join! I already know that those cookbooks you are making your kids are going to be priceless! My mother did that for me one Christmas and I was thrilled that she did! She’s an excellent cook and I’m happy to have her recipes! Yours will be even more special because of all the pictures etc that you’re putting into it! How cool is that?! That is a great idea! Hope to try some of your recipes soon!

Instructions On How To Post Your Recipes

For those who are not familiar on how to use Wordpress, I am writing the instructions down on how to write your post for your recipe. Here goes: At the top of this blog, you will see "New Post". If you don't see this, then you have not signed up to be an author. Email me to become an author. My email is here. Afterwards, click onto "New Post". You are given a blank page on which to write your post. There is a narrow area where you can put the name of your recipe (this is your title for your post) and then under that narrow area is a large area where you can write down your recipe. When you are done writing your recipe, to the far right-hand side of the page you will see "Categories" choose the category you want your recipe to fall into. Last but not least, at the right-hand side closer to the top of the page on which you wrote, is a "Publish Status". Within this area is a "save" or "publish" button. Click onto "Publish" in order for others to see your post. If you want to make changes to your post after it has been posted, just go into "edit this entry" which is located under your published post, make your changes, and then click onto "save". It might take a few seconds to publish or save so don't push the button twice and don't leave that page until the page has "jumped". Do not use the comment section of someone's post to post your post or people might not see it. Only use the comment section on someone's post to state what you think about their recipe, etc. Also, if you want to use your real name instead of your user name, just go into "Dashboard" at the top of the blog. At the far right-hand side at the top, you will see "profile". Click into "profile" and scroll down until you see "nickname". Put into "nickname" any name you want. Then scroll to the bottom of the page at the left-hand side and click onto "Update Profile". Then scroll back up to "display name publicly" which is right below "nickname". To the side of "display name publicly", you will see up and down arrows click onto the arrows and it will give you a choice from which to choose. Click on your choice of names and then scroll back down to "Update Profile" and click onto it. Then you're done! I know...so much clicking!...sorry! Don't hesitate to ask me any questions about this process. Thanks guys for all your effort!
